Most definitely Mike, leds are killing me on functioning properly so I moved onto refurbishing my widow tracks and vent wing rubbers. Will post pictures and current situation on the LEDs tonight

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build
Where to start where to start, oh boy well first off I've gone full LED with my exterior lights and have been very impressed with their performance HOWEVER! I am fighting a major issue with them, I've got my lighting closer than ever to being correct but I'm having trouble getting the turn signals to function when I have the light switch all the way on, as you can see in the video once the headlight is off the park and side marker work together to flash. I have had my electronic flasher switched with jumper wires to opposing prongs with no difference as well. Kinda at a loss as to what to do next really. Any ideas boys and girls? They do work properly while running around town during the day but obviously I'm not as concerned there as I am with driving at night.. Any help would be greatly appreciated I'll try and post what I have done to see if there's any way that I just don't have them done properly.. I used a grounded electronic flasher in the cab and I believe I wired them correct according to the package and my truck so here goes the assortment of pictures..

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build
Well a short update I was able to undo my halo portion of headlights and actually had occasional working turn signals during my drive to the main shop yesterday. So I believe if I can get a better ground this morning I should have probably well working signals while driving. But that's always easier said than done

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build
Ugh!! It's just teasing me now. I now have it grounded on both front markers to the radiator support and she still only get about 15 seconds worth of working with the headlights on before canceling out and barely blinking with the park light. Tried the polarity switch in the flasher with no dice. Think I'm gonna try to take my grounded flasher and put a longer length of wire to it and go to a more secure spot on the inside of the cab. I'm so close it's ridiculous

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build
Alright so moving on from that, amongst my biggest pet peeves on my truck were the darn worn out weatherstripping on the wing Windows. The air rushing through drove me insane to no end so an absolute must since I was already going to be getting into the doors was to replace the vent wing rubbers. Precision replacement parts was my absolute go to and will continue to be as their rebuilding process was extremely easy and pain free. I also used their glue on door weatherstrip though I am contemplating pulling that off for the push on type (if anyone has input on those please let me know your opinions on the quality thank you.) So I begun by stripping the guts of the doors completely and disassembling the vent wings as I wanted to fully restore them with new paint and polishing the chrome pieces. This process would take a few days as I would do this in the evenings after work, everything on that end worked great HOWEVER, here's where the ever persistent demons come out to play. I decided to treat myself yet again and pay for very nice and expensive gray glass to match my rear big window. It's an amazing product and helps never having to worry about tint as its within the glass, I went with the diamond polished edging as well serving a very pretty penny (sooooo worth it believe me) my local glass guy has to go through a company to do this so here's where problems arise.
First set of door windows and vent glass arrive: Door glass is perfect, vent glass has no lock handle hole.. Second set arrives: door Windows are on shelf ready, vent wings now have just a circle for the handle, which is very wrong as its oblong.. Third set arrives: door Windows waiting, vent glass has correct hole but now is the wrong damn tinted glass.. Very aggravated at this point but my glass guy Carl calms me down and proceeds to get them right Fourth set arrives: I receive both sets of glass from my trusted guy and go home to install them the next morning. I unwrap and drool all over the door glass as its impeccable and also an added touch is that they are taller so that the window track doesn't show when rolled up, love that! now I open the vent wings and immediately notice that the holes are in different spots though they are correct, laying my old glass with track still in place over top shows that the lock handle button would easily be too far below the track to install correctly and also that the one that's lower into the track has a major sliver chipped at the top inside edge... I'm ready to bash heads at this point and drag the company's name through the mud to no end with my fathers and my own connections to make sure they never make automotive glass again in the Central Valley. My glass guy Carl has had enough as well and is truly sick of them so he seeks them out once more, returning my bad glass and demanding new ones immediately. We've already been waiting three months for two pieces of flat glass to be correct and this is just ridiculous for the difficulty level. We wait a week and they call us back saying they quit and are going to pay a now FOURTH party company to do the work for them. Said fourth company completes the task in a week and a half and I finally received proper glass to install. Finally the migraine is over and I can install my new products along with my brand new 72 door and window relays as I had old 71 worn oem parts. The satisfaction of seeing the glass glide smoothly up and down and seal properly was immense and fulfilling but certainly not without many sleepless nights. Here's some shots all through the process and final picture including the brand new windshield I had installed by Carl Pierce of Carl's auto glass in Hilmar CA. He doesn't seek to do the custom cut Windows anymore but he does amazing work on new or old cars through and through. You'll see all the cracks I had in the old windshield were the main reason I had to go new but on the other side of that the cab looks amazing being so clear all the way around.

Nah, she'll stay running as I need to go to work through the week but hopefully in the evenings I can handle the drivability fixes I've planned.
