are all 67-72 roofs interchangeable?

I've got a sunroof hole in the roof of my 67 GMC. My welder guy can patch it, but prefers real sheet metal over the replacement panels.

Any ideas if the roofs changed over the years? I just need the center section of the inner and outer roof. I assume they didn't change at all, but thought I'd better ask before buying something that won't work.

All the same except for the ones that have the cab light pods on them.

Leon, you know far more about these trucks than I ever will. However.... my '72 has a steel inner roof. Didn't some of the earlier trucks have a non-steel headliner panel? And isn't there a minor difference where the inside mirror mounts? Or maybe I'm misunderstanding the question....

Don't forget cargo light vs non cargo light.

Re: are all 67-72 roofs interchangeable?

Homes have roofs and vehicles have tops. I know, picky picky. But, yes, all 67-72 tops exchange. There are features some had that others didn't, but the outer top panel is the same stamping...other than 69-72 clearance lamp mounts. The inner panel is a separate piece, but all are the same stamping, except for headliner truck panels having the slots for the headliner moulding to mount

Well there is big rear window/ little rear window.

Also, no one sells a repro inner roof skin.

Re: are all 67-72 roofs interchangeable?

Thanks guys. I don't need the cab lights or the headliner stuff, just the center section of the roof (aka top). Looks like I can buy anything off a c10, which is what I needed to know.

Thanks!

Since he said in his original post that he only needed the roof center cut out, the only thing that would apply would be the interior headliner which would be very visable when looking at one. All of the other differences would not apply. If he had said he was replacing the entire roof I would have mentioned all of the other differences....

Thanks,
LockDoc

Then where on a vehicle do you put a roof rack?

X2. If I keep my '67 it will eventually need a whole cab restore top/roof included!

The rear window is in the back panel, separate piece. He's just doing the outer skin. If the outer is the roof then the inner is the ceiling.

In the bed . On a hardtop or a convertible? Convertibles can't use them because the "roof" is fabric. Both ways work but I prefer to use different terminology for vehicles and buildings. Convertible top, vinyl top, soft top, drop top, chop top, open top, half top.
