Re: Slot lovers unite!
I could kick myself... Sold my 72 vintage 8 lug slots for $80 a couple years ago to make room in the garage (I needed it though). I miss em, one of the best lookin wheels that can go on these trucks in my book, other than steelies - and even better than steelies in some cases. Well, if the guy I sold em to is somewhere out there, I'd gladly buy them back for $90.

Re: Slot lovers unite!
These are a hot looking, and tough, wheel polished out. But on the right truck, especially 4wds, I prefer them dulled out. Gives them a built for function look, while being undeniably handsome. most custom wheels these days look so frail to me, more like for a car (except so many are yucky black now)

Re: Slot lovers unite!
I remember seeing them back in the 70s where the flat part inside of the slot holes were painted body color. Its pretty subtle, but I like it.

Re: Slot lovers unite!
US wheel makes new slots that are very sinilar to the old ones, unlike the american racing replicas that had a much shallower look. Well worth checking out their website.

Re: Slot lovers unite!
I have always loved slots. Put a set on my first car, a 77 Cutlass, and had an 8 lug 16.5x9.75 set on a 3/4 ton 79 ford. I just bought a 65 c10 about 3 weeks ago and have been looking for a set for it. Last night I found a set of four 15x8 slots for 100 bucks on craigslist. Looks like im taking the 65 on a 250 mile road trip today to go get them. Ill post pictures when I get them on.

Re: Slot lovers unite!
Love this thread!
See where it was 6 yrs ago mine were sitting in the shed waiting to put on after ton axel conversion. Well all that has been done & have rocked them the last 5 years. Aluminum doesn't stay all pretty from the use & mud, which is okay too. So, while summer time tires with steelies are on, the slots are getting some polish love. Still think slots are the shiznit!!!
