That's a lot of work right there. Looks awesome, but do I see a Chevy dash V?

Re: 1958 GMC Cab Rebuild!
Was this just to see how well it could all go together? For the amount of time and money it'd be easier finding a rust free cab lol Looks good though, I just can't imagine doing it instead of just getting a donor cab.

Re: 1958 GMC Cab Rebuild!
There are no clean rust free cabs. There is always rust somewhere in the seams or inside pillars. This is the only way to be positive it truly rust free and it is much cheaper than buying a new cab from Dynacorn as he said above you still have to jack with fits and gaps on a new cab.
Its looking good so far |

Re: 1958 GMC Cab Rebuild!
Wow! This gives me hope for my rusty 56 cab!
Some mice built a nest above the front windshield in between the inner and outer panels and now it's all rusted through. Where can I look to find those replacement inner and outer roof panels? |

Re: 1958 GMC Cab Rebuild!
Really nice work Nsane, have been wondering are you going to spot weld where possible or plug weld? I am in the process of replacing a roof panel and was really interested in how you are going to handle that roof panel.
While my roof is off I am going to attempt to install seat belt anchors behind the inner rear cab wall near the B pillar. Your professional workmanship makes it a really pleasure to follow your thread. Thanks |

Re: 1958 GMC Cab Rebuild!
I guess I can't see the forest for the trees sometimes. Just noticed Nsanehotrodz web site at the bottom of his posts. Checked out the projects and all I can say is WOW. Wish I would have known they sold body panels on line before I purchased all of mine. One down side to buying from parts warehouses is none of these parts come with any instructions what so ever, but to purchase from someone who installs what they sells I can see as a real plus when you need a question answered. I have even called the product suppliers of the body parts and only got limited useful info from them. If and when I do another truck rebuild this I will have to consider. Nsane your post and the photo's of you builds are priceless. Thanks

Great work on the cab! Are you keeping the small back window or are you going big?

The owner wants to keep it a small window cab. Here are a few more pics. The owner wanted a smooth firewall. So we built a custom firewall after installing the new stock firewall.
