engine swap question
I have a 61 swapping inline 6 to v8 350 and a 87 front crossmember . What's best option for motor mount perches?

Re: engine swap question
I prefer the '73+ engine mounts. The C20 and C30 frame brackets are a little shorter than the C10 brackets. Regardless, with the '60-'62 frame a spacer will be needed on top of the frame. That is unless you shorten the brackets and weld them back together to fit the frame correctly without a spacer.

Re: engine swap question
Thanks capt. Glad you are here to help us newbies out. Since you responded I also have a question about your brake booster brackets. My truck has the dual clutch brake setup but I am going automatic. So do I need the regular 60 62 bracket?

Re: engine swap question
Just done mine in my 62. Used the 72 c/10 stands with 1 inch spacer on top.

Looks good. Are you removing the old trans crossmember?

Re: engine swap question
I thought that was what you would say after I posted. I am going with a automatic trans so I will be removing mine and fabing a trans mount. I have not looked in to drive shaft length do you know if I will have to alter it? Th350 or 700r4 is what the plan is.

Re: engine swap question
Yes you will need the '60-'62 booster bracket that I make for use with an auto trans.

Re: engine swap question
Capt. They were sold to me here on the forum as 67,72 v8 mounts. One of the first threads I read about going from front mount on the 6 cyl to side mounts on SBC was using 67,72 mounts with a 1 in spacer. Everything lines up and the 1 in spacer levels the stand. That's all I know about it.lol
