Leveling Side to side
Preface, Prior to rebuilding the entire front suspension, the truck tilted to the driver side. I rebuilt the entire suspension with new springs and new lower control arms. New disc set up shocks etc etc etc. Truck still tilts down to the driver side by about an inch. The lower control arms are level. The rear suspension is level.
I was thinking about taking a little bit of coil out of the passenger side spring OR shimming up either the spring or frame on the driver side. (where the spring pocket attaches to the frame. Seems someone had a similar problem earlier last year. Any way. looking for some thoughts on this

Re: Leveling Side to side
There have been a bunch of post on trucks leaning when done a bunch of work and a few have been the spring not seated in the top correctly. Also did you align it in the lower control arm? Have you put many miles on it since you put it back together? My 66 settled in some after a couple hundred miles. Headed to Palmdale later this month, how have yall done with the rain?

Re: Leveling Side to side
Yes I triple checked the seating of the springs. Its a head scratcher. The only thing I can think of is over 50 + years one of the spring pockets bent or moved up
what are ya doing in Palmdale?

Re: Leveling Side to side
On some good FLAT concrete measure the rear bumper side to side and see if it is the same lean as the front .... If it does jack up the left rear wheel until the rear bumper is level and then see what the front looks like. If that levels it out up front then you need to replace of at least reverse the rear springs.. After a few hundred thousand miles with only a driver the left side tends to sag especially on a 1/2 ton

Re: Leveling Side to side
I had all 4 coils replced on my Suburban over 20 years ago and mine is still lower on the left front(driver side). I never notice it until I'm looking directly at the front if my truck. Seems to be a common problem with our trucks.

Re: Leveling Side to side
Sweet aircraft. Any chance of any pics of it? I worked for an air cargo company in Phx in 1989 and the DC-8 CF Air Freight had was a wreck. All the rollers were junk and with it being nose down, it was a real PITA to push the "cans" to the back.

Re: Leveling Side to side
I had the same problem earlier and fixed the problem with a spring spacer on the drivers side. It leveled my truck perfectly:
