Re: Blood Sweat and Tears.. 67 Build Thread
I hadn't thought about that.. maybe the front part of the wide section should go to the body line and then let the rest of it taper down with the body line?

Re: Blood Sweat and Tears.. 67 Build Thread
I think I found the door panels I might go with.. this guy is pretty darn good and does a few different styles for our trucks... Im in talks with him to do a matching glove box door and also something with the gauge bezel to match... If you're interested hes on Ebay and has a FaceBook page

Re: Blood Sweat and Tears.. 67 Build Thread
Here's some pics of my front sway bar. Same 1-1/4" dealio you got. I did get the "lowering" brackets with the bushing kit. I've also done the LCA re-locate modification for additional caster angle (fwd 0.075"). If everything shakes out good, I'll saw that much off the ends of the bar. I've got 2-1/2" spindles and 2" springs. Like you, haven't had it assembled yet to see what ride height will actually be and am already thinking I may have to go to a 1" spring. We'll see. I don't foresee any clearance issues so far. You can tell by all the dust and sh!t that I haven't been messing with that end for a while now

Re: Blood Sweat and Tears.. 67 Build Thread
Today I started trying to salvage the passenger side fender... It is a 68 fender, and the PO, or his "body" guy, I use the term loosely, had once again used about a half gallon of bondo in his handy work to fill and cover up the side marker. I still have to get all those holes welded up and get the bottom corner patch ordered... Pics for your enjoyment... in hind sight I probably should have just cut out around all the holes and used a bigger patch maybe...

Re: Blood Sweat and Tears.. 67 Build Thread
They were just trying to prevent further rust since bondo dont rust ,LOL. I cant believe what some people think is a proper repair or patch .Your patch looks much better .

Re: Blood Sweat and Tears.. 67 Build Thread
Thanks.. yeah this guy is the Bondo King... If you remember the part about how the front roll pan was made and the front corners of the fenders were done (Very start of this build thread) and how the tailgate was smoothed with nothing but bondo (it weighed like 200 lbs I swear) There was a bunch hidden under the bucket wonder called bondo...

Re: Blood Sweat and Tears.. 67 Build Thread
I had a 68 Malibu I was planning to restore for my wife that the previous owner must have bought bondo by the 55 gallon drum.Once I realized how much rust he covered up with bondo I sold it at a huge loss and was just thankful to be rid of it .He did some very creative sculpting on that thing .I really enjoy following your build and always look forward to your updates .

Does look good! Patch panels probably get sloppy over time as the stamping dies wear out.

Great job so far!!! I just joined and started my build thread. I'm in the same boat as you, don't let it get you down. I'm sure my build will take twice as long!! Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see it when it's done.
