Does anyone have borla or magnaflow exhaust

Looking for sound bytes from some our members trucks. Trying to decide which I want to use leaning towards borla but would like to hear both on real trucks not the ones from the manufacturer

Magnaflows on mine. 2.5" all the way from long tube headers. Couldn't ask for a better sound.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Borla XR1's. Your results may vary. I don't care for magnaflows at all, jmho.

That sounds really good, is the video of your LS powered truck? If so do you know of any good clips of a big block powered truck?

Also which magnaflow part numbers do you recommend?

Talking Re: Does anyone have borla or magnaflow exhaust

if you decide on borla be sure to save your warranty papers--you will need them. they are over priced crap in my opinion. before anyone throws a fit about what i just typed, let me give a little history about myself-i've been in the same muffler shop for 31 years and have seen quite a lot in that time. borla uses thin material on the shell and the necks of their mufflers, i can dent the shell with my thumb!!!!! i have replaced a lot of them over the years with magnaflows. i will not sell them. if a customer has their heart set on borla, i tell them to buy them and i'll put them on but save that warranty paper.
i have magnaflows on my 72 that i installed back in 1989 that are still fine. i have flowmasters on my 77 blazer and flo-pros on my 73-80 4x4. i've had spintecs-way too loud in my opinion but quality built mufflers.

The Magnaflows on my 2006 Silverado sound awesome. I will be putting them on my build when I ever get to it.

Yes this is the 6.0 LS motor. I can get the numbers but I don't know them right off. If you have a BB you may want to go to 3" pipe.
I would try typing bb in you tube.

Re: Does anyone have borla or magnaflow exhaust

I've ran SS Borla's on my Blazer for the last five years and one is rattling inside. Like Jerry said, they are thin! I had some road debris hit the Passenger side muffler and it split wide open, had to replace it - $$. Love the sound with SS tips (not Tubes). Going run Magna flow next go round - soon!

Well, first welcome to the 67-72 Chevy truck board. I'm glad you took you the time to review this thread and present yourself. Its always exhilarating feeling with some one in your position replies to a board question and gives reassures that you are backing your products. I will certainly give a call tomorrow and tell my story, hopefully we can come to a consensus. I have no problem running Borla mufflers with a good warranty. Thanks again, D/

Hopefully I didn't hijack your thread, my apologies if I did...

Thanks for the kind words and I look forward to speaking with you. We wouldn't have achieved the position we have among enthusiasts without taking good care of our customers and I appreciate you giving us the opportunity to do so in this case.

It really doesn't matter how long we've been doing this, or how well-known our brand is, because if we slack on the enthusiasts that use our products we'll be gone in a heartbeat, and rightly so.

We have to meet the challenge every single day and we know it.

Red face Re: Does anyone have borla or magnaflow exhaust

since i bashed his product so bad, i sent David a P.M. with my shop number. hopefully he will call and we can discuss future plans at Borla as far as the material goes. they sound great but the thin material makes me shy away from them.

Doing a follow up, just getting back home from a trip and as David expressed in his comments, Borla replaced both of my mufflers at no charge. With this warranty and customer service, plus a nice sounding product, I highly recommend these guys. Thanks again David!

Magnaflows for me - 2.5" with an X-pipe. Great sound at idle and a nice rumble when you get on it a bit. On a side note: the muffler shop Jerry works at did the install. Great price and great workmanship!!!
