Bolt Pattern/Wheel Help! (4x4)
I need a new set of wheels for my truck, but don't know the proper backspacing or bolt pattern. I have a 1985 GMC Sierra 4x4 1/2 ton. I know the wheels are 6 lug, but I just want to confirm that they are 6x5.5. Also...what backspacing do I need? Brakes are all factory...discs up front & drums in the back. Any help would be great.
Thanks, Josh |

I do know that they are 6 on 5.5, but someone else will have to help with the back spacing.

Re: Bolt Pattern/Wheel Help! (4x4)
Bringing this back from the dead. I have an 84, so practically the same. What is the center hole size? What should backspacing be? Thanks

Re: Bolt Pattern/Wheel Help! (4x4)
It is a 6- 5.5 bolt spacing, usually when buying rims it'll say for chevy truck. Because the center flange has to be bigger to accomidate the hub assembly
As for backspacing....no clue Duro

Re: Bolt Pattern/Wheel Help! (4x4)
I believe the backspacing on a 6 lug 5.5 is 5". ...Joe

Re: Bolt Pattern/Wheel Help! (4x4)
AFAIK all factory Chevy truck rims use a 4" backspacing regardless of rim size (7 or 8" wide)

Re: Bolt Pattern/Wheel Help! (4x4)
I believe that he was asking about aftermarket rims. At least that is the way that I understood the question. I'm running aftermarket wheels on both of my trucks. One has 16x8s and the other has 15x10s. Both have a 5" backspace. Hope this helps. ...Joe
