Interesting configuration on the back floor section.
Can't wait to see it all together, like the direction, Im just having a hard time fully understanding the whole enchilada.
Dig those beaded panels. Totally envious.

Thanks Bomp. I didn't mean to keep my plan a secret, and trust me I do have a plan. The area above the gas tank is for the air tank and compressors. Then the floor with a hinged access panel will go above that. The rear doors will be changed from an upper and lower tailgates to just the upper gate lengthened about 8 inches.

We had short day today but we did make some gas tank straps and mounting brackets. Then since we will be moving on to the firewall soon we dug out the bare block and transmission case to use for mock up

Yes guys the V12 makes an appearance but just for mock up at the moment.

Our first attempt at installing the motor ran into a few obstacles. The oil pan hit the motor mounts, the cam cover hit the firewall and the transmission hit the tunnel. So out comes the cut off wheels.

We started cutting just a little from the firewall above the transmission. We soon realized we needed more more space. Then we cut a larger opening up to the wire gutter.

I always love the newbie question of...Can I fit xxxxx engine in such and such vehicle....and from now on I can answer....sure you can if you can do this....and send them here.

Thanks Trixxter. We did have to cut a bit to get the motor level.

Thanks Pirate. The motor is sitting just behind the rack high enough for the harmonic dampener to clear.

To make the motor mounts we started by making bracket to bolt to the block. Next we bolted stock chevy motor mounts to the bracket. Then we bolted them to the block

Yesterday we got the motor mount frame brackets welded in. Next time the motor comes out we'll box them in. Today we removed the passenger side of the firewall to get ready to install a new one.

When we cut out the firewall we found more rust that we had to remove. Then when we cut that out we found an apartment complex for rodents above the kick panel vents. And since we had lots of access we cut off the bottom of the kick panel. We finished today tacking in a patch panel on the front of the vent box.

Thanks guys. The yellow truck is a 67. Originally from California I found it as an abandoned project in a barn 1/4 mile down the road. It has a 327 with a 700r4.' We stretched the cab 27" and made the extended cab rear doors. Then we cut 27" out of the front of the box. Now I'm just waiting for the snow to melt.

Friday we replaced the section that we cut out of the kick panel. Today we started by patching one of the holes for the heater intake.Then we made panels for the toe board and firewall and got them tacked in place

Like quite a few builds on here, you continue to be my touchstone of sanity.

I am on week two of a seven week classroom training course in haematological anti-coagulation and find myself looking in on threads with much envy.
I guess this will pass and I will be able to pay my mortgage and buy bits for my engine and do my truck further.
