Exterior door locks
When I took apart my exterior door locks I found a nearly demolished o-ring that was wrapped around the lock cilinder. It looks as though it was meant to be a way to keep watter out in between the lock and the handle. I can not find a simaler part in the catalogs. Has anyone seen one of these? Or know what I am talking about?

Re: Exterior door locks
There is a flat washer/gasket that fits between the door handle, but no o-ring that I know for for the actual lock.

Re: Exterior door locks
The o-ring goes around the base of the button/lock cylinder, and seals the button to the handle body that it fits inside of. I don't know where to get the "correct" one, but I bet you could find one at a well stocked hardware store. They usually sell all kinds of different sizes.

Re: Exterior door locks
I had the same problem, I just replaced the rings from a standard O ring kit. I used silicone grease on the rings when I reassembled.

Re: Exterior door locks
I did not realize they had them. Nice to know information.
