i've got a bed and tailgate for sale, bed has minor rust in the rear quarters, and a spot on the tail pan below the gate. the inside and underside of the bed are like new. it has had a cap or tonneau (i got both when i bought the truck) and a bedliner in it since new. i'm asking $250 for the bed, but since i havent had any serious offers on it, i think i may have to come down a bit on the price. the tonneau and bedliner are included in the sale. i'm almost 100 mi closer than the one in MI too. :p

rust free

Hi Guys
Am looking for rust free. mine could be saved with work, but dont have the time. just want to swap the top over a great running 4WD frame. Mine is an 86 K20, but figure any 80's bed and cab will work .. My sons will swap for me.

rust free is very expensive... if you get a rust free cab and bed you would be one in a mill unless it's solid fiberglass. i would ask for a solid cab and bed. are you looking for a longbed, or shortbed? a solid shortbed goes for about 5-700 down here and, a solid longbed is about 3-500 and, solid cabs are about 500-700, i would say the only way to find a rust free cab and bed is if you get a project from somebody that has run out of money or lost of interest check www.ebay.com

I have a rust free cab and bed....and it's not fiberglass. That's a good point about living in the desert.

No, it's not for sale. It still happens to be attatched to the frame of the truck I drive daily. My point is that you said such things don't exist, when they do. I can understand why you'd think that, living in KY. Even the darkest reaches of my cab and box bottom show no blemishes and nothing but the factory coating. I'm guessing you're one of those anal-retentive folks that thinks rust forming in a paint scratch=no-longer-rust-free. In that case, you win, I have rust. :p

Tom don't dispair you will find parts for you truck they are out there. I found a 73 from texas that i'm doing the same with. There was a little rust on the bottom of one door (boo hoo) but i can live with finding a door. Paid $300.00 and a nice drive to Dallas. Truckman dude you need to get out more. You're talkin high dollar you parts in your area.

Yeah, what he said . If you were closer, I know I could hook you up with a virtually rust-free parts truck for reasonably cheap. The "bone yards" around here are full of them.

Although I'm sure they exist, I'm yet to see any of the later subs or blazers here locally in the wrecking yards. Tons of 73-87 trucks, though.
