body side molding

I have a 71 c10 with a two tone paint. The PO put a boat load of screws into the body side moldings.I do like the look of molding but when I repaint the truck replacing all the moldings would be very expensive. What would it look like without moldings and still two tone paint?Opinions please

Re: body side molding

The cost of moldings will be a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of a paint job.

In my opinion it will look incomplete. I've seen it that way and it just don't look right. But I'm more of a purist, and you know what they say about opinions.

Re: body side molding

Since you didn't give a paint code I can't say about the specific colors and scheme in question. But to generalize they IMHO look wrong. Plus with so many people adding the white sides, as offered with the Deluxe Two-Tone, without molding it tends to look like an amature addition.

Re: body side molding

You would need to use a fairly dark divider stripe to make the ochre and white work without moldings. Especially if you are asking about the factory Deluxe Two-Tone scheme.
