Hey guys,
Bad day in the garage. My steering shaft threads (that the steering wheel bolts to) has stripped threads. Is there any way to fix this and what size are the threads? Are they 1/2-20 fine thread? Please help....any advice is greatly appreciated. |

Re: RATS! Steering shaft threads messed up
Thanks for responding....I got it fixed by chasing the threads with a field and installing a new nut. All fixed.

Re: RATS! Steering shaft threads messed up
That takes some patience. Someone used to sell thread chasers that were split so you could set the on the threads below the bad place and after setting them up back them off the threads to clean them up as they backed off but i haven't seen them in a long time. It might have been a great idea that didn't work well.
