1984 C10 DJM Drop Spindles HELP

I'm having clearance issues with my DJM drop spindles, but not with the wheels, with the bump stop. It seems like it's making contact early and not letting the spindle cut far enough, any help/advice from someone that's used drop spindles before?

I will have to look at mine later today and see. I didn't have this problem with mine on my '85.

That's the steering stop, it prevents the steering from moving the wheel too far. Though i remember my CPP spindles having a much shorter steering stop on the control arm side, you could clearance them to provide a shorter turning radius

I think I'm going to shave a little off the spindle and see if it's enough. I've also realized that once there's weight on the front end, there is a little more clearance but it still doesn't look like enough.
