Yeah I have a 14 bolt 9.5" in my 94 fullsize. I pulled the rear end out from under the truck and put a 4.56 gear in. That thing must weigh 500 pounds. The rear drums are huge. I couldnt see tearing it up as it will take some power. BTW my 94 only has a 305 But I got a posi!!!

HAha. That reminds me of a buddy of mine. He had an old beat up POS Transam with a trashed 305. Exhaust leaks everywhere. Everything was trashed. But it proved to be a dependable daily driver?? The worst part was he had the exhaust removed to the collectors. Like MOST things, this could give anyone the wrong impression. More specifically, anyone who had a need for showing off. He wound up re-routing the windshield wiper fluid hoses to the rear tires. When some numb nutts would line up next to us, he hit the spray switch, make some jesters and then spin the tires......oh the smoke. It defiantly caught some eyes and would prove intimidating to almost anybody. The funny things were the thumbs up he'd get and "awesome" comments. Oh, the cars dead now. |

I think alot of the "burnout" has to do with tires. My 383 could spin my BF 275's for hours without making much smoke at all, my vortec 350 takes about 6 seconds to make seeing threw an intersection impossable, and thats with cooper 255's. And no Im not kidding about the intersection part, I have the ticket from the two cops who watched me do it to prove it

Its nice to be able to turn the tires and they dont cry or leave marks. Traffic stopping burnouts are kinda nuts. How much was the ticket?

You wouldn't be upset if someone did that in front of your place? I doubt it. I am all for doing burnouts (mine have four patches, not one), just not in a residential area. Tom, my brothers 69 step had a 383 stroker too and could spin 295/50-15's very quietly. It was quite a diversion from the Goats we had growing up. Our 66 had a 389 tri-power with a four speed and could leave marks for 40 feet (with 2.73's in the rear)!
