speedometer and mileage tracker not working

The original speedometer and mileage tracker have stopped working on my truck. Would this more than likely just be a new speedometer cable?

Most likely something with the speedo cable. My speedometer did work when I began working on my truck, found out the cable was shot where it connects to the tranny. New cable fixed it

After dealing with this multiple times on my Suburban, I would guess lower speedometer cable. When replacing it, make sure the cable is nice and straight without any bends in it.

If you have one of those gear ratio adapters you might check that..I had one that went out on me once.. if you take it or the cable off you can run it with a drill and check it.

Check your cable before you go buy a new one. Possible it just popped off Trans. Or popes out of back of gauge cluster
