What fluid is this? (Inside wheel)

I noticed this the other day:

I have since taken the wheel off and looked inside the drum at the wheel cylinder but saw no obvious fluid on the outside.

I looked while the wheel was off inside the wheel area and it looked like it could be coming from the area where the arrow is in the other picture. Does anyone have any ideas?

Is it safe to drive or should I wait until I have it looked at?

If it is just seeping out it will be fine if you keep the diff full, but if oil can come out then dirt, grime and muddy water can get in. The air blowing by from driving will get gear oil all over the bottom of the truck also.

Here is a link that shows seal replacement after you get the axles out. http://d44tech.com/axle_seals.html

Re: What fluid is this? (Inside wheel)

its dry above it otherwise I might think something else could've gotten on it such as brake fluid or engine oil. I would be checking axle seals x3.
