Re: Wanted old Douglad Speed Silver Spring MD licence frame f
I am just now remembering/picturing seeing that shop. where was that? I also remember one along 495 going around the east side (they call it 95 these days). It was past 50 around there somewhere. I never went in there. Can't recall the name. Or was it Speed Unlimited? I never went to Douglas, either. I dealt with Coleman Bros. and Frederick Performance Center. Actually, by the '80s I was getting speed parts through Penn Jersey in Ellicott City. I would look through the book and place an order. That was a great family run parts store, and right about next to Miller Brothers Chevrolet where I had an account.
I guess this hasn't gotten you any closer to finding your plate frame

Re: Wanted old Douglad Speed Silver Spring MD licence frame f
Tim, it's been years since I was there. It was in Silver Spring. My dad and I used to go there. We would go down Georgia Ave a mile or two after Going under the Beltway. It was on a corner and the owner had tubbed Javlin and it used to set right on the street in front of Douglas Speed and Sport. There wasn't a parking lot, you just parked on the street. This was in the mid 80's
Thanks, Ray

I remember now. I haven't been down Georgia Ave that far probably since the early-80s. I remember there was an Atari store. I big sign that said ATARI on the left going down. That was when they first made a game system and were mostly arcade games. I never saw the Javelin, but stopped in when I was working on some houses being built right around there.
