Re: 1972 "Ol Blue"
Well I scored the power plant for the truck today... LQ4(6.0)!! Looks rough, but has pretty low miles and it sounded healthy. Just need some elbow grease and some Chevy Orange paint!

Re: 1972 "Ol Blue"
Trust me mine was in about the same shape when i got it. Little bit of work and she is all pretty now! Problem is now I am looking for a 05-06 motor with the better rods and pistons in it!

Re: 1972 "Ol Blue"
I just went back and looked at yours for encouragement!
Seems like no matter what, one thing leads to another! haha I'm on the hunt for LS1 intake and so far that is leading me to this, then that takes me this direction.. But will be worth it in the end! |

Re: 1972 "Ol Blue"
Check LS1tech, look for an LS6 intake over the LS1. Much more bang for your buck. They pop up often over there in the classifieds.

Re: 1972 "Ol Blue"
Will do. I have a few on the eBay watch list, but some people think they are gold! If I'm going to spend $500-$600, might as well spend the extra get a FAST.

Far as the motor, I got my F-body oil pan in yesterday and waiting on some prices from a friend that is a Brian Tooley dealer for cam swap goodies! Hoping to have that button up soon. Another big project I have is finally getting a place of my own! Little lot in the neighborhood I grew up in. Looking to start building the shop/apartment soon! With that I bought myself a different type of toy.. Now I can say "Get to the Choppa!!" |
