Want To Buy - 6 Restorable Blind Moulding Clips

Like the title says... I need 6 (or more in case any break) restorable or NOS blind moulding clips like the one pictured. The picture is of a reproduction clip but they are too short and the tails are breaking off. I need some good old GM clips.

These clips hold the upper tail gate trim on a '68 C-10.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Want To Buy - 6 Restorable Blind Moulding Clips

I found some "GM" clips online sold by Av-ec-co (I think that right). They list the correct GM #3944866 part number and the picture looks exactly like my repro clips.

Anybody have experience with this company? Also, Fastenal has clips using this same GM part number. Just wondering if they are the same as I have.

I'm going to Fastenal tomorrow and compare the clip I have against the one they have. The only problem is that you have to buy a box of 25.

So were you able to find the trim clips at Fastenal?

Re: Want To Buy - 6 NOS or Restorable Blind Moulding Clips

So to resurrect this post, the solution to this issue was never posted. Can anyone shed additional light on this? I also need these clips. The last piece of trim to go on my truck and of course it's driving me NUTS!

So - if by some slim chance anyone has these (either NOS or restored OEM) I certainly could use them ASAP.

I have some "tasty" NOS items I could do a partial trade plus some cash on your part depending on what you want. NOS center console ashtray, NOS Chevy console emblem, NOS "8-350" fender emblems, and a bunch of other stuff for NOS clips. LMK what you have and we'll work a trade on one of the items.

TIA,
Randy

Napa sells these and usually have them in stock I believe you can by them in a 4 or 6 pack. Take one with you and they have a “book” of fasteners to match up.

Randy, I did locate the molding clips. Sorry I didn't report back.

I found the clips at my local Fastenal store using the original GM part #3944866. They are manufactured by Au-ve-co Products under Part #9965. You will notice on the box label that the GM part # appears just below the Au-ve-co part number. They snap right into the tailgate and hold tight. The repro ones I tried either wouldn't snap into the holes or if they did snap in they pulled back out. The curvature and depth of the snaps is wrong on the repros.

If you want I can send you some of these in a cushioned envelope. How about $2 each plus shipping?

Hey NoNeck! I appreciate that! Can you spare 8? PM me and we'll work the details. Do I need something different for the ends?

Re: Want To Buy - 6 Restorable Blind Moulding Clips

No problem Randy. Yes, there are two threaded molding clips at the outermost edges of the trim. They come with cushioned nuts. I have a couple that I can send to you. I have attached a picture. I will PM you with details.

Re: Want To Buy - 6 Restorable Blind Moulding Clips

Has anyone ever sourced these clips from SPAE-NAUR ?

...I'm pretty sure I've seen all of these supplied through them as well.
