Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits

Hey Guy's,

I will do volt gauge conversions but I need to find the gauges. As most of you know, it is the 76+ Chevy truck volt gauge I use for these.

If you have access or can find your own gauge, I can build a conversion for you if you send me the gauge.

I will start working on getting some more gauges. The problem is the price on the gauge is costing more so I am going to be charging more for the conversions. They are going to be more around $100.00 shipped now if I supply the gauge.

As far as the 60-66 volt gauge conversions, I can do those as well but the price will be $140.00. There is much more modifications to be done to the gauge tin to make them work. Also there is no "8-13-18" volt overlay for these like there is on the 67-72 conversions.

Thank you for the interest. Send me an email to tbonegarris@yahoo.com if interested.

Take care,
Tom

Just for clarification - What is the "Gauge Tin"?

The cluster has the main tin which you could call the main body of the cluster and it has the small tins that hold the gauges. The temp and amp gauge are in one tin and the oil and fuel gauge are in another tin. It is that "tin" that needs to be modified to accommodate a later style volt gauge.

Hope this helps,

Take care,
Tom

Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits

Tom do you have any of these ready to be shipped? either in the 67-72 or the 75+. I am not sure which one I want. i am leaning towards the 75+ but not sure of any modifications needed to fit it. Will i need to put my needle on it?

Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits

Tom quick question. Have you ever thought about an overlay for the oil pressure gauge??? I would buy one if you had it!!! Just one similar to the voltmeter with numbers

I can check into it. The problem is the initial set up charge cost a lot. It worked out for the volt gauges because there was so much demand for them. Not so much on the oil pressure gauges.

I have considered doing electronic oil pressure gauge conversions but again, have not had much demand for them.

Take care,
Tom

Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits

What keeps the +12v from grounding out from the tin on the voltmeter?

The gauge itself has small insulators that keep the terminals from touching the tin. The way I supply voltage is the same way it is done by the factory only without the circuit board. I just tap into the 12V side of the temp gauge and piggy back it over the the 12V side of the volt gauge, add the ground, and all is good.

Yes it is possible if you are not careful to install the gauge incorrectly in the tin. At that point, things would start to get hot until the fuse popped.

Hope this answers your question,

Tom

Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits

Hello all,

I currently have enough gauges to build 2 conversion kits if anyone is interested.

They are $100.00 shipped.

Please ask any questions you have and thank you in advance for your continued business.

Take care,
Tom
