Will Corvair Radio for my 63'?

Good morning Fellas, I just bought pretty decent 1963' Corvair Radio with its faceplate for my 63' truck, my dash is a little hacked up so this will look great since the Corvair faceplate will cover up the cut up face opening and radio knob holes. Anyways, my question is how does the radios mount up? It has a back mounting L-Bracket that in sure I can cut down to length if it is too long, in assuming that using two nuts won't be the past way to mount using the face plate.

Thanks guys

I used to have a 63 Corvair radio in my 65 Chevy II and it fit. I think the old radio housings are the same size and of course the shafts are moveable. I mounted mine in the back with metal pipe strap. Lots of holes for mounting to the radio and dash.
Good luck

I am only about 35 minutes up the hill from you, if I was going down there tonight or in the morning I have a couple partial rolls and would bring you some... but tomorrow I am heading the other direction to check out what looks like a real nice 64 C20.

sure that you are not thinking of the teflon tape for threads, the stuff with holes was actually used for hanging pipe. lot of it used to be copper but I haven't seen copper for years. perhaps it got to expensive
just checked the copper is 70.00 for 25' while steel is 15.00 - 20.00 for a 100'

I thought it was funny to call it tape when I first heard it 35 or so years ago. I don't remember teflon tape back then, just pipe dope. I have been in one form of construction or another all my life and around here that is what they call it. Probably because it is on a roll.

Wow copper? What difference does it make for it to be made in copper?

Dissimilar metals = galvanic reaction = corrosion

Thanks. I had to modify the opening cuz the radio was a 1/4" bigger but it was fine since my dash was already cut so I didn't mind, the radio faceplate covers everything and makes it look so much better.

You DO NOT want to use steel/galvanized plumbers tape to hang/strap copper pipe MOST copper plumbers tape is COPPER PLATED steel a lot cheaper than all copper

I have had many discussions at home depot/hardware stores when I ask wheres the PLUMBERS TAPE and they take me to the THREAD SEALING tape/ TEFLON (trade mark) tape....... HAD to splain many many times what THEY are selling
