Chevrolet Restoration Packet

It may be old news, but by calling 800-222-1020, I was able to secure a "Restoration Packet" for my 1968 C10. There is a lot of good information in there, primarily standard equipment listing, optional equipment listing, GVW ratings, engine specs, trans specs, etc. Looks to be about a 100 pages or so.

They mistakenly sent me a 1969 packet, if anyone is interested in this packet, let me know and I will send along to your US address. FIRST COME BASIS.

Regards, Don Brooks

We did that for our Camaro - the packet said it was a small block car. Dad bought it new with a 396/375 :P
If it's still free, go for it, just don't put too much behind the info they send you

Yes the packets are free.....you will need your vin number to get one. And only Chevrolet...

The first one they sent me was for a car...had to call the second time to get it right....seems like they do allot of this..

The 800 number I posted is the Chevrolet customer service number, so you've got to get through a few layers of "automated" stuff, but you will finally get to a real person! As some others have stated, the first information packet I got was not what I requested, I asked for 68 C10 info, and got 69. The second pack was for the 68. There is a lot of information there that coincides with other data I have seen presented in other media, along with some additional stuff. There is also a packet of Vendors. Later, Don

If you tell them you just bought the truck and you don't have it home yet, they will let you slide on the VIN. I have all but 2 of the years.
If you have a 70, don't bother...get a 69 book. tThe 70 one is pathetic.

The canadian members will have to pay for there packets, but there packet will have info to that particular VIN/truck. Info like dealer's selling price, date sold, maybe even personel info on the buyer.
Trucks sold in the USA don't get that info. We didn't keep track of what is what like they did up north.

Thumbs up

I called today and order a resto package for my truck. It was easy, should arrive in two to three weeks. They gave me an extention number to call for further assistance.

I called and asked them for a '68 packet, but they sent me a '67. That's OK -- I have a '67 Sub, too.

I used the their website and got ones for 67,68 when this first came out on the board several months ago. Believe I had to use a vin number to get them through the website also.

Resto pac update

You all: I called the 800# and talked to a Susan Hansen........her direct line is 1-866-952-4368 X457.......She will have to have the complete VIN # or she won't send out the packet.......I told her my 67 was a CE147 and that was not enough for her so need the whole number......then she will mail it out ........I'm surprised they answered the phone Sat. afternoon!!!!!!

just FYI,

i ordered my packet several *years* ago, and its true..... they always send you the wrong packet the first time..... i think they sent me a 1969 packet the first time, and i had to call back and ask them to send the correct one.....

also, i have a question for those of you who have your packets already.....

are your packets xerox copies of pages? was it just a large packaged of xerox pages paperclipped together? mine is, and some of the pages were copied crooked, so that some of the info has been lost off the edges of the paper.... is this the case for you guys?

thanks in advance!

Jewels, that is how they are, and I think everyone has the same crooked pages.
Funny enough, I have ordered 4 of the 6 years, and never recieved the wrong one yet.
