Sending Unit Wire

I bought an under the bed gas tank (LMC truck) for my 68 c10. I have everything done except not sure how to hook up the wiring for the tank. The sending unit has a place to connect the wire (smaill stem sticking up), but it has no way of securing the wire (no nut or threaded area to hold on wire. Am I missing something? Thanks.

It is just a push on connector. You should be able to use the connector and a short piece of the wire from your other tank. Be sure and solder and heat shrink tube the solder joint.

Here is a picture and a part number. Try Summit. Or maybe your local parts stores since you have a part number.... It looks like the new ones are a different style but they should still work.

the connector is an industry standard AC Delco PT197. I just bought one from Rockauto for about 4 bucks a couple of weeks ago.

will that also work for the temp sending unit?

Here you go brother. I can't find anyone, anywhere who offers one with the proper green wire color. If you can live with it being the wrong color wire, here is your solution for a sanitary repair for about four bucks.

Bringing back an old thread. I tried the acdelco pigtail on my sender. It is in a lmc rear mounted blazer tank. The post is too big for the pigtail to fit over. After messing with it for a while and trying to open it up I messed it up. Now gonna order the other pigtail from amazon. It is a 90 angle piece. Hopefully it fits a larger post. :/

The post on the Blazer tank doesn't have threads on it? If it is just a friction fit connector you should be able to find the correct pigtail for it if you know the year of the tank....

Nope. It’s just a post with a bevel towards the top. About the size of a 3.5 headphone pin (actually looks a bit bigger than that). No idea what year tank. I got this truck 3 weeks ago and I think the tank was purchased from lmc by two owners ago and the swap was never finished. I tried contacting LMC about the tank kit but they never responded. :/

I ordered the other 90degree pigtail. Hope that one works. No time to go searching junk yards for an old connector.
