Tow package question

I have an 06 with the tow package that come from the dealer with the harness for trailer brakes. Here come the dumb question. The harness has a sticker on it that show that I need to plug it in under the dash, but what do I have to do with the other end? Do I still have to buy a trailer brake controller? Thanks in advance James

Re: Tow package question

Yes you will have to purchase a trailer brake controller. there is a black fuse looking box under the dash on the driver side. remove the cover and the second spot from the top right is where you plug it in. do a google search for brake controller. Most companys sell a wiring harness that's vehicle specific for the brand brake controller you purchace about 15 bucks for the harness.

Re: Tow package question

I think you have to connect the one or (possibly) two power wires under the hood at the Electrical Center. One is to power the brake controller and the other (if it has a second wire) is for aux power at the plug.

Re: Tow package question

I think I figured it out. After searching the net. It is for a brake light on a slide in camper or canopy. Makes sense to me
