2-piece diveshaft pinion angles
I've searched the archives and I'm either not smart enough to figure this out or haven't found the right info. 63" c10 bagged longbed 2 piece driveshaft need to setup correct pinion angle and need help getting started. My measurements are ( 5* down at trans} {3* down first driveshaft} {5* up second driveshaft} 0* at pinion}
The only thing I'm sure about is I need to raise tranny, after that I'm pretty much lost, any help would be appreciated. Ken |

Re: 2-piece diveshaft pinion angles
Ok on the Dana site it says to get 1-1.5 degrees down on first driveshaft then set pinion to match first driveshaft 1-1.5 degrees up, is it that simple?

Re: 2-piece diveshaft pinion angles
how are you adjusting your pinion angle with the fixed trailing arm mounts? did you link it? or are you going to shim? reweld?
I did a 6" static drop in the rear and am almost at the re-measure the DS point, so curious I also have a two piece DS. |

Just depends on how much I need to adjust it, I do how some shims but I have 3 inch blocks that could be cut down also.

Re: 2-piece diveshaft pinion angles
Post 13 and 15 in this thread have info that should be helpful. There is a link on post 16 but I think the info has been moved, I did not see anything during a quick look. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=405802
I have read the link in post 15 many times in the past setting up lifted 4x4's Edit: You may have already been looking at the Dana link on the 13th post. Last edited by Chknlyps2; 05-30-2016 at 01:30 PM. |
