Wheel size for c10

I have a 1968 c10 longed.. And was wondering whats the widest and tallest wheel and tire without doing any modifications.. I plan on lowering it from stock heigth about 4 to 6 inches.. Not slamming it But a comfortable lower... Any suggestions? Ideas? Offset needed.. Tire size etc!

I'm not sure how different the spacing is from a C10 to a C20 but I have 18 x10s all the way around with 5 inch backspacing with 285 tires and really I wouldn't go any farther in.

Re: Wheel size for c10

I have 27" tall tires front and 29" rears on my stepside and am very happy with that combo. You might do 28" in the front if you lower less than the 4.5" my truck is down in the front. Mine is dropped 7" in rear and I have no issues with height.

17x8 4.5" backspace front with 235 55 17 and 17x9 rear 5" bs with 275 55 17. In the back you MIGHT get away with 285 on a stepside, but I have no rubbing with my setup. 5 lug wider rear from a '72.

Re: Wheel size for c10

This is asked once every two weeks or so, but it's a really hard question to answer as it's going to depend on the offset/backspacing of your wheels. If you want to know what your maximum width will be with perfect backspacing go measure from your fram rail to your inner fender, that's the number you can't be outside of in the rear.

Re: Wheel size for c10

I am running Rocket booster 6's 20X9 with 5 inch backspacing and 275/40/20 with Toyo tires all the way around with no rubbing or issues. But I would like to add a one inch spacer in the back.

Just a follow up to my post as well. I am running 18X9.5 Ridler 695's with 285/35/18 rear and 255/35/18 front, and a 3/5 drop, lots of room all the way around, could easily get into 315's in the rear.

No problem Cade. I always go by backspacing because if i know the width of the wheels then the backspacing will allow me to determine how close it will be from the inner wheel wells.v very easy calculation both ways on the hub.
