71 4 speed transmission boot question

I need to replace the old rubber boot on my 4 speed manual transmission. I went by the local specialty shop and picked one up. But when I pulled my old one off I noticed the base was flat. Where the new boot has quite a large step in the front.

I looked online for different photos but all the boots I see have the step on the front. Then I went on LMC's website and they show a couple of options. The first one with the step for trucks with factory V8 and one without for factory V6. So I emailed and asked for an actual picture. Which they were nice enough to provide.
The picture shows a rubber boot but the base is round where mine the base is oval, and the boots with the steps are oval.

Any idea what rubber boot I need? I tried to upload photos but my phone isn't coperating.

My truck original came with the V6 manual 4 speed combo.

The one on the left has the step Im talking about. The one on the right is the one that came out of my truck.

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement like the one on the right.

Looks like a 4x4 shifter boot, the engines on the 4wd's sit further back than the 2wd's. The shifter boot sits on the flat part of the hump.

Thats just another unsolved mystery with what all the PO did to complete this truck.
