Yeah, I have a practically new engine, newly rebuilt 700r4 OD tranny and freshly rebuilt and tuned Q-Jet carb.
4.10s and no overdrive will keep you turning like 2700 rpm, no good for gas mileage. I'm putting a cam in this 350 to make the most torque in the 2k-3k rpm range for great gas mileage plus only turn 2k rpm on the highway which will give me great mileage also.

if you're looking for great milage, ditch your front axle and transfer case altogether. 4x4 trucks arent built for milage.

Nah. I need the 4wd. Why do ya think I sold my 2wd? If I wanted mileage I would have kept the good ol 2wd GMC with a 305 in it and swapped the th350 for a 700r4 and re-geared it.
