CA tow hooks - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

i'm not an expert on these, so please verify application for yourself. they appear to be original accessory tow hooks for 60-72 trucks based on1971 and 1979 parts books (screen shots below) on gmpartswiki.com. some other literature shows this type of hook as a rear hook for 60-66. from my searches, these seem much harder to find than the side-mount type. one hook appears to have 2133366-7 casting. the other is very hard to read.

the way i read it they ALSO came on the big trucks. unless you have another source.

Jerry's right 40 and up are the big trucks. Ours are normally the C/K 10-30. Here's a GMC version C-40 with hooks installed.

thanks for the pic.

i'm still unclear about what models these came on. i realize 40-60 represents C-40 etc. but the way i read the list these hooks came in all 60-66 models, and 67-72 only ser. 40 thru 60 (tilt). but i'm not sure what "ser." or "tilt" means...

i think the ones in the c40 picture above are different. here's one on ebay now, they are not the same... just trying to find out as much as i can here...

I'd guess ser is series abbreviated and tilt is referencing maybe the tilt forward front end. They kinda look like the dealer add on option rear hooks to me but I'm probably wrong there. This picture from Pete shows dealer rears pretty well. It almost appears to me like you've got two different styles of hook there. The lower one in your last pic seems quite a bit thicker at the base than the other one. Optical illusion?

yeah, optical illusion. these are identical except the hooks bend the opposite way.
