What color would you paint your 1970 GMC 2500 4x4?
If you were going to paint the entire truck what color would you paint it?
This is an Edit. I thought the Original color was 525 Saddle. The paint guy says that 525 Saddle was not a color in 1970. Is my title incorrect? Is my SPID counterfeit? Has anyone ever owned a 1970 525 Saddle color truck? [IMG][/IMG] Last edited by RestoreAmerica; 07-22-2016 at 05:58 PM. |

I wouldn't change a single thing on that truck! Well except the wheels but the rest should stay the way it is.

Looks good to me the way it is.....but my favorite color is Hugger Orange/White two-tone.

It's hard to tell by the pictures but it looks like your hood has issues. I would definitely keep it the same color. But I always like a paint job I can shine up on the weekends.
Nice truck... fun!

Re: What color would you paint your 1970 GMC 2500 4x4?
There are issues with dents, minor rust, poor body work, peeling clear, and fading paint. This truck will get painted inside and out. I am entertaining what color options people think are best. If the truck were to ever have a color change this would be the time to do it.

Re: What color would you paint your 1970 GMC 2500 4x4?
The thought of a nicely painted truck has always been entertaining to me but the more I think about it the more I realize it would just cause me anxiety. My favorite color is green. So if I picked a color it would be some form of green. I also like the two tone lower on the truck so I would keep that. My second favorite color is a gun metal grey so I would have to consider that as a color combo. Good luck!

Just finished this blue 2X, but I'd leave yours the same!

If I was repainting the truck inside & out, I'd go with this:

X2 - I'd repaint the original color and keep original color interior. Good luck with the build, it's a nice truck.

Re: What color would you paint your 1970 GMC 2500 4x4?
I'm going to be doing my K2500 in gloss white with the bumpers and wheels in satin black.
Planning on moving to Texas, and the truck has no A/C. I need as much help as possible.

I'm with Pete on this one. That's a nice looking truck as it sits. I'd repaint it the original colors and two tone scheme.

You'd be much happier with a bad paint job and A/C here in Texas.

Re: What color would you paint your 1970 GMC 2500 4x4?
Although, I prefer two tone combinations with more contrast - hugger/white, blue/white, ochre/white. The subtle saddle/white with the thick black trim in between would probably look sharp newly painted.

Re: What color would you paint your 1970 GMC 2500 4x4?
Maybe my SPID is counterfeit. It states 525 Saddle. I am being told that GMC didn't have 525 Saddle in 1970.

What is it the wheels and or tires? Is it the tires or the rims? What don't you like about them?

Re: What color would you paint your 1970 GMC 2500 4x4?
For me I do like the wheel and tire combo on the truck. I like the original look like on the truck in the pic I've attached. Although this one is a 4 x 2 it shows what I mean. Your interior is gorgeous so I wouldn't change the color of it either.
