1 ton wheels

Good evening Gents
Can I put 1ton wheels on my stock c20 ?

As long as they are the older lug pattern of 8x6.5 not the newer metric pattern. Also Check to make sure the hub hole is big enough to clear your axles. If they're newer wheels watch the off set too. When my truck was still 8 lug I put a set of steel wheels for a mid nineties Chevy on it.

I didn't give enough info. I have as 66 c20 with farm dump bed. It has 265/75 r16 on modern rims on it now. I need new tires. I found 6 ford wheels with 9.5r16.5 almost new tires for 500 bucks. Thought the duals might help. I haul 2 tons sometimes. New lugs and studs? Just pondering. Thanks ,Lowell

The Ford wheels could have a larger centerbore, therefore you'll be placing all the weight on the studs.

Make sure when you're buying used tires you check the date code. There are not to many companies making 16.5" tires anymore. I believe Ford switched to metric 8X170mm on there 98 and up models.

That's a great point. The centerbore on my F350 Wheels are larger then my Chevy Wheels.

The dual type wheels might bolt up BUT on the front IF you can get them on i doubt you will be-able to turn the wheel (left/right)..... ON the rear they will most likely hit the springs (if leaf) or trailing arms... A lot of differences on a cab and chassis dual wheel truck AND even MORE on a pick up bed dually axle length , WMS to WMS , spring with ECT. ECT.

Most of the time the C20 brakes are larger in diameter than C30 brakes, which are smaller & wider than C20 brakes. At least on the ones I have worked on. So the inner wheel won't fit over them. I have also found the C30 brakes to be mounted farther inboard also & in my ambitious early years actually moved a set inboard to make the rims fit, but NEVER again! I have seen folks use spacers but use at your own risk!

I don't know about 66, but in 63 you could get a C20 with dual rears on trailing arms and coils.
