Inaccessible rust areas - how to protect ?
I'm getting ready to blast and paint all my chassis parts and I'm wondering how exactly to clean and then protect the inaccessible places, permanently.
A few example areas; between the frame and all it's reinforcing layers in/around the top of the rear coils, inside the cavity (boxed area) at the bottom of the radiator core support, gap between the trailing arm halves etc. etc. The last thing I want to see is rust dribbling down from these spots everytime I give the truck a good wash. I have a feeling most people don't bother but, I'm OCD about things like this so ... So how and what can I coat these places with ? I have some ideas but ... |

Re: Inaccessible rust areas - how to protect ?
The key word here is "INACCESSIBLE" short of removing rivits and drilling holes no matter how OCD you are your not going to treat those areas .media blast epoxy prime and paint is the best your going to do . other than that your looking at replacement when the affected area fails .

Re: Inaccessible rust areas - how to protect ?
I was thinking about using internal frame coating on the inaccessible areas.

That would work on the "accessible" areas but the inaccessible areas are well ...INACCESSIBLE .

Re: Inaccessible rust areas - how to protect ?
Eastwood has a product with a length of hose on it and a nozzle attached, forget the name. I took a pump up lawn sprayer, cut the brass wand and attached a length of hose between the ends and sprayed a Phosphorus rust killer with it, tip was a bit bulky but it fit in the hole i had in the truck.
