is a 83/87 c30 front suspension a direct bolt in to a 68 c10 frame

You'll need to swap in the later ball joints and swap the center link and tie rods too because the ends have a different taper.

I was looking at changing to whole front crossmember.

Yes, it's a direct bolt in if using the entire front suspension with the crossmember. That's what I did on my 68.

Also a direct swap if you replace everything but the crossmember.
