How sweet it is...

I waited 3 years on this and it's finally mine!

It runs and it runs darn good. Had to put a fuel pump on it before we left with it and he did it for no charge. The choke needs to be fixed and he already put the rear shoes on it. He gave me the fronts along with a new set of front shocks.
It's titled as a 67 but he changed the front to a 68. It is gorgeous in my eyes just like it is, even though I plan to clean it up good and do some cosmetic stuff to it. The out side will go untouched for the sake of the Pantina look!
God I never thought I say that about a vehicle I owned.

I got 15,000lbs tag today for it and have to call and get the insurance on it.I hope Hagerty's will insure it for me.
Dad found a 12,000lbs wench at Harbor Freight to install on it.
It needs the seat redone and a really good cleaning out. New front windsheild and gaskets all around it.
I have some old parts from my 71 I will be putting on it. Door panels steering wheel and it's going to be a multi color what ever I can find for it.So if you want to donate parts feel free no matter how big are little.

I would guess the whole cab is '68 unless the dash has been swapped or the hole for the ignition switch has been enlarged. It has a '68 up large bezel ignition switch in it. '67 would be the small diameter bezel.

None the less it is a nice truck.....

Great truck Andy, I see it has a column shifter but a floor stick. was it changed to a different tranny or is it what LockDoc suggested?...

That is a cool old truck....congrats!!...and that will make a very cool hauler, you might even pick up a few bucks hauling classic cars to local meets just so they can ride high on it.
That said, I would do a couple of things to it to set it up for hauling...as follows:
-Go have the rad tested and/or redone to make sure it is up to snuff....4 core/row minimum on that type of vehicle.
-While you are at it, put in a new thermostat (cheap stuff....good for the mindset)
-Find and add the original fan shroud (appears to be missing)...this will really help keep it cool under load.
-Source/find and install a power brake booster to help out with your braking....not too expensive to come by.
Question: What engine is in it?....you can always do/add a few bolt ons to get a little more torque without breaking the bank or the motor.
Regardless....great truck, great find!!...those always look good!

I've seen the VIN. It decodes as a 67, but below the VIN it has the government mandated safety tag that was required on the 68 and up trucks, so definitely a bit odd. Extremely late built 67? My 67 never had the "safety tag."

It also had a "9" in the cab and chassis spot... I would have thought it would have been a "3". I can't find what 9 decodes to?

Definitely a cool toy.

Have you looked for the frame VIN stamp?

I haven't seen it in person yet, just saw a pic of the VIN this morning.

Hope Andy doesn't mind, but it was posted on FB, the start of the VIN is CE397B The 9 is throwing me off... I wonder if that was a special wheelbase or something (like for the motor homes?)

Yes, to the best of my knowledge the '67's all had the textured glove box door paint with the silver edge.

According to the title it's a 67. he PO said he changed the cab over to a 68. Side markers where a dead give away on that first time I saw it. As for a frame stamp no haven't looked for one. Jesse I don't mind and I don't know about the number.
I took some pictures under it just for the heck of it. I must of been tired when I posted. The winch dad found was 12,000lbs with remote.

I could be wrong, but it looks like he not only put a 68 cab on it, he put a 68 50th anniversary cab on it. The one pic shows part of the door panel. That color white only came in the anniversary edition. That is super cool.

I don't know if the same holds true with the c 30's. But in your engine pic you can clearly see it has the wider top frame rail like the 67's do.

Also the oe green firewall tells ya that it's not a anniversary cab.

But I must say it is/would be a very cool look/theme for it.
I have never seen a 68 anniversary ramp truck.

I would check on how the ps box is mounted too the frame. Since the 67's didn't have that type of ps.

Oh and I wanted too comment on the wench but I better not since I have a bad habit of typing things I shouldnt

I spent most of the day on the road. I had 4hr ride to pick up the 64 SS Impala 283 motor and SS caps & wheels. it has a 350 crate motor in it now with power glide.

When I got back I started on the ramp truck. I pressured wash the motor good and most of the trash out and vacuumed out the truck. I put the tag on her too! Spent about 2 hrs flushing the radiator. Opened the drain on it and nothing came out. I poked a metal rod into it and it dribbled a little so I got the hose and back flushed it. It started pouring then. I flushed it out good and took the upper and lower hoses off to flush it best I could.
I put straight water back in it for now. Going to get a new radiator I think to make sure it cools good when hauling.
This will be one for the ramp truck to haul also.

If you dont have one already, you should borrow a big trailer for a pic. Hauler with the 56 on back, 64 in frojt and the 71 on the tail of the trailer...in year order ya know. That'd be a good pic to blow up into a poster!

Tuesday I plan to take it to my friends shop and leave it while we are gone on Vacation. He is going to replace the front shoes and bleed it good. Hope he gets the carb rebuilt and may have him look at the e brake cables.
