Question Stepside question

I just picked up a 1972 stepside longbox. After doing some research I find just a little over 7500 of the longboxes were made. Originally I was going to pull the engine and tranny and stick it in my 56 but now sure which way to go. Is it worth rebuilding?

Re: Stepside question

It's absolutely worth rebuilding. Driveline doesn't necessarily need to be original so feel free to drop it in the 56.

Re: Stepside question

If it's a nice truck and you want a 67-72, sure. But if you think a long step is "rare" or "collectible" for that number then you may not be happy with what it's valued at when you're done.
