IMO,,,If your building a cruizer, go with the 700R4. If your gonna beat it hard, go with the 400.

May those who love us, love us, any of those who do not love us, may God turn their hearts.
And if God is unable to turn their hearts, may he turn their ankles so we may know them by their limping.

A man who works with his hands is a laborer; a man who works with his hands and his brain is a craftsman; but a man who works with his hands and his brain and his heart is an artist.

The 400 will last forever, teh 700R4 wont, and it'll cost twice as much.
However, teh 700 will suposedly get you better MPG, but if you think it'll pay for the tranny over time, it better last a long time, they generally don't help MPG all that much. (although there are a few here who have managed to pull it off with real good numbers) The 700 is cooler though.
