New record to beat
I was looking for that other post about the $99,000 truck on ebay but couldn't find it. Where did it go?
Anyway, this one has it beat. Which one of you are going to pick this baby up?? !! Ebay If it were Blue I would buy it, gotta pass on yellow though.

Re: New record to beat
That is for sure a "My wife wants me to sell it so I will post the ad and say im trying but i am not actually trying" ad.
It is an extremely mint truck, but I have seen similar trucks up here for 30K. heck i got a running, driving, GMC 1500 for around 2K. It isn't as "pretty" as that but the fact remains. |

Re: New record to beat
When I saw the interior painted black, I cried, then I kicked my dog. I'm going to buy it so I can put the dash in my truck.... I need a new dash!

Re: New record to beat
Yeah, that's not even close to what it was originally. It's on coils on all 4 corners, the engine, trans, and t-case are all custom, as are both front and rear axle.
it's being sold by a dealer. If I had a ton of money that I had no idea what to do with it, I would consider buying this, but it has no restoration value, and it is not a truck you would take to the pits or the mountains. It makes no sense.

Re: New record to beat
Trucks are not that expensive up here, most of the old trucks are still owned by old farmers who either don't care about what they have or just don't know and see it as a ratty old truck they want off the yard.
there is a 71 F250 with a big block, running, driving with just rusted floorboards for 250$. (4X4 original everything) I was also looking at a 81 F150 with a 302, all it needed was a starter for 150$ (in Alberta). Also saw a 67 GMC with a grain bed for 650 down south, a bit rusted but in mostly orig condition. And I found a few really mint trucks for 20-30K, I will admit they were not hopped up, but you would never see a truck go for that much up here. |

Re: New record to beat
For that kind of money I'd think the drivers fender and door would be properly aligned.

Re: New record to beat
That's a high dollar build for sure. Is it worth it's asking price?? Well In my eyes it's much closer than the truck that was listed at 99,000. I don't have 100 grand laying around to buy a truck so I can't say if it's worth it to me, but it's a nice build. It's nice to see a 4x4 get some love. There's a hell of a lot of fab work in that truck.... Now if only they had started out with a K/20....

Re: New record to beat
Must be from a flipper. A random price of 126,901. makes me think someone wanted a base amount, then added up their receipts to come up with that number.

Re: New record to beat
The other thread about the 1968 Chevrolet C-10 for $99K on ebay was apparently deleted. It seems something was offensive about the thread, not sure what because all I saw was admiration and comments about the build, preferences about how the interior was done, and admissions about how much it really costs some of us to fix up trucks like that. I see this thread is heading the same direction, so perhaps this thread will be deleted too.
This one is very nice. I would sooner buy this 4x4 for the asking price than buy some BMW, Bentley, Mercedes, or something like that. The person buying it will not be in it for the hobby, and they probably will take it off road and play with it. I couldn't really buy it even if I had that kind of money, because it wouldn't fit in my purpose of buying a $350 truck and working it over like the big puzzle it is. The hobby. And it doesn't have enough patina for me. But it sure is pretty. |

Re: New record to beat
Both these trucks are in the right place to sell. There are some Seriously wealthy folks who live in that neck of the woods and they probably need the correct vehicle to drive over to their friend's Bar-B-Que/pool party.

Re: New record to beat
somebody had a lot of disposable income to build that truck. personally i would never own something that nice-even if i could afford it, which i can't- since i use my trucks for their intended use. i agree, a ton of fabrication went into it but i would have used 1 ton axles (thats just me) but i dig the atlas t-case.
pretty truck and i'm sure someone spent more than the asking price to have someone else do the build. i'd rather have one of my ugly old trucks but be able to say that I built it.

I ran it past the wife. She doesn't like the yellow, so I guess I won't be buying it. Sure is purty.

Re: New record to beat
Nice ride.
Not my cup o tea because it isn't restored, its rebuilt and there is a clear difference. Like many here I can't afford that price, and even if I did have that kind of money that particular truck wouldn't tickle my fancy (assuming I had the same personality and character with all that loot! If somebody pays the price I do hope they drive the crap out of it...

Re: New record to beat
I too miss the other thread, but its all the same. The 67-72 chevy pickup is quickly headed to "iconic" status. You all know that when you start seeing more and more go across Barrett Jacksons stage, And like these on E-bay, the big bucks guys swoop in and make money on them. In our area the prices have doubled over the last couple of years and the later square bodies are going up every week. Great if you own one, Bad if you want one.

Re: New record to beat
Ah man! For a $126,000 and I still can't get some extreme bend tow hooks. Man they are sure getting pricey. I wonder if a 250,000 would come with tow hooks???
Nice looking truck, would Love a 4x4. And a lot of other trucks also. But I'm not sure I would ever want any vehicle that much. Too many others out there way cheaper just as special if not more to me

Anybody else notice that in the outdoor pics there's no black on the outer grill but on the indoor pics there is? What's up with that...

Re: New record to beat
At that price i would just take it right up too the strip mines and slop it around in a few of those mucky coal slag puddles till it got sumerged up too the mirrors.
One can allways ask whatever they want....will they get it? At least he started his asking price high so there is some wiggle room for haggleing.....oh wait this is the famous ebay.
