Looking for pics of Western Chassis reacr shock relocators installed.
Pic please as the product did not come with installation instructions and I am having some one else do the install who is telling me the new brackets kneed to be ground down to fit properly. I can not get Western Chassis to get me an answer for the last three hours.

Re: Looking for pics of Western Chassis reacr shock relocators installed.
I have some installed on my 74 im just away from the truck now. its pretty straight forward install. they sit inside the current shock mount, bolt on the top each side and 1 bolt thru the back. the rounded part at the bottom is where the bottom of your shock bolts to. I believe you supply that bolt or use your old bolt.

Are you talking about having to hammer them in the existing shock mount? If so that is what he might be talking about needing to grind.

Thanks again. Did you use their front relocator kit?

Re: Looking for pics of Western Chassis reacr shock relocators installed.
Without the truck in front of me it looks like the front relocators will be hard to install with inner fenders on the trucks. I might be wrong.

Re: Looking for pics of Western Chassis reacr shock relocators installed.
Thanks for the pic.
I am talking the about rears. Apparently I have shock extenders for which no instructions came with the package. This is the email I got from them. Shock extenders. Unfortunately, I didn't have access to your invoice until now. I see that it's not a relocation kit but an extender. We don't have instructions because those a direct replacement for the existing shackle...however, perhaps we should. I am searching for something that will help. and will send it to you asap.

Re: Looking for pics of Western Chassis reacr shock relocators installed.
The front looks like it is going to require the inner fenders to come out. Just a bad design. I should have done more research.

Re: Looking for pics of Western Chassis reacr shock relocators installed.
how tight are they ? when I installed mine. I had to spread them a little. I just spread them with a adjustable wrench. then I drove them home with the hammer. bolted right up. post some pictures. ill get a picture of my rears tonight.

Re: Looking for pics of Western Chassis reacr shock relocators installed.
Not the best pic but this should give you the idea. Side holes in bracket go through original shock mount holes.

I made my own, based on pictures I found. Same idea:

Re: Looking for pics of Western Chassis reacr shock relocators installed.
Once I got to the shop to lend a hand it was painfully obvious what I could not understand thru text. The top of the bracket does not have the indentions at the top like the ones in my picture above in the previous post. The bracket will need to be ground down on the top to allow full extension. I will also have to re-drill the hole to get it to line up as well. I do not recommend their brackets. They should have been a complete bolt one installation with no mods necessary. I am returning the front extenders as well because you have to drill holes in the top of the frame and that is not accessible without removing the inner fender. There are better designs available. I will post some picturess later but here is a sketch.

Re: Looking for pics of Western Chassis reacr shock relocators installed.
You shouldn't have to grind anything off the brackets, but you will have to open the hole size on the top hole of the original mount. Then the new bracket should bolt up with plenty of clearance. I'll get you some pics tonight if needed.

Re: Looking for pics of Western Chassis reacr shock relocators installed.
I had one pic on my computer of the bolt hole you'll need to open up, I think from 7/16 to 1/2". In the pic you also see another problem you may have to address with the bolt hitting the leaf spring plate. About a 1/8" of clearance is needed on a 4 leaf pack and about 1/4" is needed on a 3 leaf pack.

Re: Looking for pics of Western Chassis reacr shock relocators installed.
I see. If we open the bolt hole it will allow the bracket to slide down and it will clear the axel housing. It was already installed when I got there and I didn't think that all the way thru but makes perfect sense.
