79 door crazy hard to open
I just finished the build on my 79 c10. I know the doors are going to be hard to shut with the new weather stripping. But it is crazy hard the open. I have my stricker adjusted all the way out. It closes good but just hard to open. I put a small piece of pvc pipe over the sticker as I have heard people do. Maybe that is a little too thick? Thoughts?

I was thinking they were using a different type of tubing..not pvc..I may be wrong...if the od is to big that may be your problem..

Re: 79 door crazy hard to open
I ground it down real thin. Looking on line for strikers some do not have the bushing. Do the 79's have them. I bet it would close better without it

Re: 79 door crazy hard to open
Actually no they don't close better without, and they rattle like crazy. GM called that bushing a silencer. Id pull the weather strips and readjust the door.

Re: 79 door crazy hard to open
1/2 inch PEX tubing works perfect for the striker bushings and seems to hold up better than the gray bushings sold by the parts stores.
