Hello im looking to put a 350 sbc with a t56 tranny in a 68 lb c10
What problems would i run into if i went with this setup? Im still new to this so dont be mean if the question sounds stupid. Thanks. Right now it has a 307 and powerglide in it. I just wanna know if the setup i want will work and if it does what parts should i look out for when buying the tranny

Moved your post for you. I keep thinking about the same idea, but for my 64. It will be interesting to see the responses.

Re: Will this setup work

I think the T56 uses a hydraulic clutch system. That might take some figuring.

Yes , Guys have already done it , Get out your wallet .

Just to start ...

bell housing
clutch, pressure plate ,throw out bearing ,pilot bearing
shifter
clutch pedal and complete linkage
trans mount
drive shaft and yoke
floor shift steering column
manual flywheel
correct starter
speedometer correction
I'm not sure if you need the high hump for clearance ,This short list will get you started . search the forum for instructions and do your homework before ripping into it . with all the parts sitting on the floor its a weekend job . https://shiftsst.com/

Personally, I'd be looking for a parts donor vehicle, one that was a manual trans, floor shift truck to begin with. That way, you might luck into a lot of the parts, and possibly be able to sell what you don't need to help pay for the project.
