Question No tail lights, the brake light and turn signals do work

I discovered on my 69 Chevy truck that the tail lights do not work. Would this be more of a fuse issue then both bulbs going out?

Have you checked for good grounds on the bed?? Do you have 12 volts in the light sockets - check with test light? Jay

Thank You Jay, I did a quick check but I could not find a weak spot. I will have to wait for day light to dig deeper.

Re: No tail lights, the brake light and turn signals do work

trace the brown wire at tail lights forward. There's a connection on driver side just behind rear axle.

It could be a broken wire or bad headlight switch or many other possibilities

wire colors at back;
brown-tail
yellow-left turn
dark green-right turn
light green-back up

left and right turn are also respective brake light wires

has someone wired up for trailer lights? I see so many times they use scotch locks and they just invite corrosion into wire

On my truck it is the same fuse for stop and tail lights, so if the stop lights work, the fuse is good.

Mine had the exact issue, traced to the taillight wires that the PO spliced a trailer hookup to and did a super crappy job, using electrical tape and just twisted the wires together. The brown one was rubbing/shorting on the frame.
