adding seat belt retractors

I replaced my original faulty retractable seat belts ('85 GMC) with manual ones. Not too happy with them, hard to adjust, drop on the ground etc. Is it possible to retrofit these belts with retractors?

Re: adding seat belt retractors

Where did you get the manuals ones from? Are they aftermarket? Can you post a pic?
Sorry for all the questions, but a bit more info would help, although I don't believe they could be retrofitted now. The belts (retractors) would be built from the manufac. And I would think, that more belt is used in a retractor vs. a manual belt.

Re: adding seat belt retractors

Hopefully they can help you out. I had gotten my retractors from the seatbelt store.com. At a later date, I didn't like the plastic buckles & wanted to go with the GM metal ones. They helped out with the cost and all I had to do was send them back, so they could swap out a few parts.
Most places are willing to do what it takes to make their customers happy.
