New Truck 1967 GMC stepside

Finally pulled the trigger on a truck.

Bought a 1967 GMC stepside yesterday.

Has a 400 small block turbo 400 trans. Lowered about 3 inches. 91 box.

Its in pretty good shape thankfully. Needs some TLC and some maintenance. It has no stereo so that will be my first project. The gas tank is the bed but I want to replace it with a under bed Boyd's tank.

Can't do too much right now. I just spent all my cash buying it!

Hey, is it ok if a someone south of the border participates in this Canadian thread? Nice '67. Take your time (as if you had a choice). Good things happen to those who wait. I do a lot of it. Still waiting for the good things, too

The guy I bought it off of was in Saskatoon. But he only had it a year and never drove it. He put 100 Km on in a year. The truck was restored in 2005 in Lloydminster.

For sure! I don't plan on driving it until spring so I have some time to get it in shape for summer cruising

Nice score on the truck, money well spent. Sure looks clean in and out. I get to your area a lot and every cruise weekend in August since the start many years ago, never saw that truck ever, glad it worked out for you. Start saving for more cool additions.

Re: New Truck 1967 GMC stepside

I have a few updates going on my truck. It’s getting a FAST EFI, Tremec 5 speed, headers, full exhaust, Flaming River steering column, CPP full suspension kit 4/6 drop, CPP full disk brake kit, Dakota Digital VHX gauges and dual electric fans.

Another member on this board is doing the work. James ( aka Nuke1 ) and his guys at Full Throttle Concepts are doing a great job.

Re: New Truck 1967 GMC stepside

I was eyeballing this truck when it was on kijiji last year, I'm glad it went to someone who has great plans for it.

How about the box? Keeping the '88 one that's on it or going with an original? Is the SPID still there?

The kit we bought came set up in the mid location. We got it from Silver Sport Transmissions

I bought it fall of 2016 and have driven it from the driveway to the garage. It’s killing me now that’s is getting close to being done.

For now it’s staying with the modern bed. Eventually I want to swap it out but I’m way over budget as it is.

I’ve never looked to see if the SPID is there!

Mr Terminology Corrector here . You do know the GMCs were called Fenersides, right. Chevys were Stepsides. Now for the correction of corrections... the last Stepside/Fenderside was made in '87. After that, starting in '88, there were these stylized versions which were called Sportsides. Well, I guess I'm out of corrections now, so my work is done here. So what color, I mean colour is it?
