Hey yall. Long time lurker aswell. I have been wanting to start my own build thread for future help.I will finally start it. Rookie here n I have learned a lot from all of you guys. So thanks to u all, and here is my way of trial n error. Maybe one will learn from my mistakes.

I wanted this truck to do my errands for my home but it seems to b a little more now.

Purchased this 64 c20 2 years ago in san bernardino for $600. Needed a radiator, battery, n the steering wheel had play.

Got a radiator and a battery n tested the engine to see if it ran. Added a thermostat to the neck.

Motor cranked n ran!!!
Next thing to do was get the steering snug n safe...thanks to captain fab n all of u I decided to add power steering. Boy was it tough. First Lil bump on the road. Got the setup from a 78 c10.

Since my truck has a 292 inline 6. I have learned it is merely impossible to find power steering brackets. I tried the 250 i6 ones from the car and truck shop in oc and they didnt work

Once that was welded, it took me a while to find a decent pair of power steering brackets. So for the meanwhile I rigged some stuff to get it driving for the meanwhile. PS I am not a fabricator.

Got it running and driving! Drove it around the block and had fun with it!

so then I decided I wanted to clean the cluster and get rid of the ugly orange interior....this is gonna offend people but I didnt sand the orange. Just rattle canned over....fwd 2 years later and yes I know would have sanded it down and gave it a nice paint job ha.

Got everything back and let the truck sit a few days. Got it fired up and somn had caught fire under the dash....I smelled smoke so i shut it off and had a bunch of wires that were burnt due to a lot of bare wires just taped....

My cousin and I tried cutting and splicing the cables n it did not work. I got annoyed and just ripped it all out and got a whole new harness for the dash and fuse box.

Drove it to my friends house and he was excited to see this beast.
He said his dad had one like this back in Long Island

In this block they have speed bumps since people haul butt and only the elderly live in this area. My friend was excited to drive it. He then puts it in gear and my truck starts to smoke. Im thinking like crap. The engine didnt last me long.
I go to see the truck still running why my friend wasnt moving. I says, "dude u still have the parking break!" he laughed and took it off and hauled butt. He then manages to hit the speed bumps and my spare tire holder comes off that was tied down with a cable that i didnt even know. Half the bed shifted cus it too was not bolted down. haha

Got home in one whole piece
started to replace the wood. Since it will be for loading stuff in the back I decided to take someones idea on this forum and just put home siding. Thanks dude!

A couple months went by and the city near me had their anual yard sale which they do twice a year. My friend needed help so I took orange crush with.
We drove it through the city and did a lil shopping aswell as sell stuff. Got a few old coleman ice chests for cheap....around 4 i decided to come home. I then manage to make it half way home when the ps locks and the truck dies on me. After driving my truck all day it never occur to me that maybe it needed fuel. Sure it did and had to call my brother so I can make it home. Damn fuel gauge didnt work.....turns out i needed a sending unit.

Needed to run a new exhaust on the to do list.
Drove it to spot and they gave me the run around after i drove like 20 mins to the place. Frustrated I decided to come home. About 7 mins down the street my truck wouldnt catch first gear. On a red light I get it on first and it sounded like the trans wanted to drop. I take off quickly and third wouldnt catch I start to think man im going to need a new clutch and flywheel. I ran about 3 red lights: luckily no cars near and make it up my driveway. Then i remembered the previous owner telling me his kids would go in the truck and just mess with the stick. I dont think that was the cause but he probably didnt want to tell me it needed a new clutch kit

Bummed out it was time to put a new clutch flywheel and throwout bearing.
SO......pulled the 292 out and began the fun stuff....

pulled off head and resealed the engine and cleaned off all the gunk
