6 cyl power steering

howdy,
I discovered a 198(?) C/10 at the junk yard with factory original power steering on a 250 inline six (integral head). It was optioned on the sticker. Anyway, will the brackets etc fit a 67-72 truck 250? Should this be something I should get? It looks to be all there. Any help would be appreciated.

Thumbs up

Yes, I belive the brackets are the same. Just make sure to note weather it's a 250 or 292 as they are different(just incase you didn't know). Yep deffinatly worth getting if they give you a reasonable price on it!

Everyone says the 292 and 250 PS brackets are different so I thought I'd throw this in. I have a 250 and my brackets came off of a 292. I'm not too sure what year 292 or what vehicle the 292 came out of because the engine was out of the vehicle when I found it. Anyhow after close inspection the brackets mounted to the 292 the same as the 250 EXCEPT the simple brace that went to the lower part of the block and connected near the oil pan. This particular brace was essentially a piece of flat stock maybe 1/4" x 3/4" or so. So what I did was cut the brace shorter, rounded the end, tweaked it a little bit and drilled a new bolt hole in it. Woola....292 brackets on a 250 and even the sharpest eye would think it was original.

FYI........

The intergal head power steering is different than the original setup. It can however be modified to work, I have done this on two different trucks, it doesnt look factory but it works thats all that matters to me.
