Is this really a 67 gmc?

I could use some help assessing this one. I was thinking about rescuing this GMC, but then noticed the side marker lights on the fender and back of bed. Maybe a 68 with a 67 cab? Does the interior look like a 67? Any other obvious discrepancies?

Looks like some rocker rust but can't tell if it extends into the floor area? The seller says it has a 283 engine. Asking price is $1500...

The marker lights on the fenders and bed are not correct. Engine is a 305 v6.

Joe what is the difference in the 67 grille vs 68-72?

Thanks,

Re: Is this really a 67 gmc?

Yep, a '67 and not a 283. How long this this seller own this to not even know what engine it has...or even how many cylinders?

1967 GMC's have the GMC emblem in the center of the grill, the only year that they did that. Too bad as I always thought it was the best looking year.

Re: Is this really a 67 gmc?

The GMC is embossed into the grille instead of the 68-72 GMC letters on front of hood.

I'm betting seller pulled it out from behind someone's barn for 500 and is trying to flip it.

Yes, that's a little scary. Kinda hard to change your oil if you don't know what engine you have.

Re: Is this really a 67 gmc?

Thanks for the feedback. It's an hour drive to look at it, so I'm really on the fence with this. Not sure it's worth $1500, but it's been listed nearly a month so price should be negotiable. Unknown rust is always a concern too. I guess I'll just stew over it for awhile...

Re: Is this really a 67 gmc?

It's a 67 GMC for the most part it seems. If it's not running I wouldn't give over $800 maybe as low as 500

Re: Is this really a 67 gmc?

You can tell it needs a door and front half of the left side and pretty good dent in the lh front fender. Also makes me wonder why no right side pics. It does have 4 speed and gauge pack as well as power brakes.

Re: Is this really a 67 gmc?

The hood and grill alone should/could be worth hundreds depending on shape....then again when it's time to sell you can't find anyone to buy.

I did ask for a photo of the passenger side and questions about brakes and tires. No response. Must have ticked him off.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback!
