RideTech C-10 StreetGrip Install at Barrett-Jackson

RideTech is taking the 48-Hour Build concept to the next level by leaving the comfort of our own shop and building a vehicle at the Barret-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, AZ, the largest collector car auction in the world.

The vehicle will be a 1968 GMC C10 truck that will be built over the duration of the event that starts on Saturday, January 14, and ends with the sale of the completed truck on Sunday, January 22. With the help of our many amazing build partners, this truck is sure to be a show-stopper! The RideTech 48-Hour Build will be a part of the new Barrett-Jackson DIY Pavilion that showcases products actually being used and installed in real time. We'll be livestreaming from the build and having contests up to and through the build; stay tuned to www.ridetech.com/48hourc10 to get in on the action!!

Re: RideTech C-10 StreetGrip Install at Barrett-Jackson

Folks, I'm out here at Scottsdale. The 48 Hour Build is turning out great. With 350,000 people expected, this project really shows off our awesome trucks. The build team is also showing enthusiasts how easy it is to work on this platform. The truck itself is in really nice shape. It's not my favorite color, but the metal is straight and rust free.
The most amazing thing is watching the heads of these great companies dive in and personally install their products. That's good for all of us. So not only is the buyer of this truck going to get an American Autowire electrical system, but it's actually being installed by Michael Manning. Ditto for Vintage Air where V.P Rick Love is getting it done. Some of these guys have been around the industry forever, but they can still turn wrenches with the best of em.

If you are coming out to Barrett-Jackson, be sure to stop in, check out the truck and introduce yourself to these fine manufacturers. They are happy to put down their tools and spend some time talking with you.

And if you can't make it, please stay on top of the build by checking out the photo galleries, watch the live feeds and watch on Sunday around 4PM local time (Mountain)

..and remember that the truck is selling No Reserve to the highest bidder. Anything can happen. It should be exciting.

Re: RideTech C-10 StreetGrip Install at Barrett-Jackson

Here is some more action from the Ridetech 48 Hour build at Barrett-Jackson. There are literally thousands of people coming over to see the truck apart and watch it go back together. Its an old truck so with age and manufacturing tolerances, the parts are definitely not installing themselves. The most interesting thing is watching people with bidder badges walk over to inspect the progress as if it is already THEIR truck. It ain't sold til the hammer drops.

Can you imagine doing all of this work and then sending the truck across the auction block?

Don't forget to watch some livestream and check out the galleries:

Well, the 48 Hour GMC Truck build is almost over except for the part where it crosses the auction block and the part where you can win seriously cool prizes for guessing the hammer price. Visit the following and enter your best guess. If you win, you will be notified by email.

ENTER TO WIN -- Guess the Hammer Price:

The build effort has been extraordinary. The 48 Hour time span was divided into daily segments so that the Barrett-Jackson visitors would enjoy watching progress each day. So while the crew didn't quite experience the thrash from the first two 48 Hour Builds, the process was challenging nonetheless. Cold temperatures and heavy rains hung around for much of the build.

That's right -- it rains in the desert. ..and the temps inside Barrett-Jackson's DIY Pavilion rarely exceeded 50 degrees F. There were times when the build team was working in a pool of standing water.

With all of the hard parts installed, the top half of the truck was wrapped by EA Wraps. The black with orange separator stripe gives the truck serious street-cred. Between the wrap, the killer StreetGRIP stance and the Forgeline wheels, you completely forget that this thing started out looking like a farm truck.

Enjoy some pictures and be sure to enter our "Guess The Hammer Price" by clicking on the link above. The truck sells at Barrett-Jackson tomorrow, Sunday January 22 at approximately 4PM local time (mountain standard time).

Oh, one more thing: Bret's offering a "48 Hour 10% discount on the entire StreetGRIP Product line. The clock started ticking already, so click the link below and act fast.
