LMC Gas Tank Install: bed left on?

Anyone know if I can install the LMC rear mounted gas tank with the bed left on?

I called LMC and they have no idea. They couldn't provide any installation information at all. I've read the posts on here about the kit lacking install instructions.

Yes, you can, but You will need to trim one of the bed cross members for clearance.

And the thin crossmember on the frame for the spare tire needs to be removed..
it's 1" 3 sided channel .

It's easier on a wood bed, you can loosen the bed bolts, remove all the bolts for the cross member and take the cross member out, cut it, and put it back in. That's what I did on mine.


On a steel bed, I would think you would have to remove it to cut it out, or use torches or a plasma?

I cut mine in the bed with a sawsall and the put ice on the bed floor to keep cool while grinding
